Sam Mullis is Partner of MNH Tullis and Mullis Newby Hurst. Prior to founding Mullis Newby Hurst in 2002, he was with Dodson-Bateman & Company for 17 years as an executive vice president and shareholder. Mullis has also held surety and casualty insurance underwriting positions with the USF&G Companies in Dallas. He is active in numerous trade associations and has served on the boards of TEXO, Associated General Contractors National Surety Council and the Construction Education Foundation. He is also a past board member of the Associated Builders and Contractors of North Texas and the National Association of Surety Bond Producers. A graduate of the University of Arkansas, Mullis holds a BS in Business Administration with a concentration in insurance and finance.
Mike Tullis is a Partner of MNH Tullis and manages the Arkansas offices. Before partnering with Mullis Newby Hurst, Mike worked with an agency in Little Rock specializing in commercial insurance and surety bonds. He is active in the construction industry and is a past board member for both the Associated General Contractors of Arkansas and the Associated Builders and Contractors of Arkansas. A graduate of the University of Central Arkansas, Tullis received his BBA with majors in Finance as well as Insurance and Risk Management. Mike is also a Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC).
John Newby serves as a partner of MNH Tullis and Mullis Newby Hurst. Newby previously worked as assistant vice president for NAS Surety Group where he was responsible for its operations in the Western United States. During his 12 years in the surety bond underwriting field, he worked in California and Illinois with the Insurance Company of the West and Reliance Surety Company. He is an active member of several industry associations, including a past instructor at the National Association of Surety Bond Producers William Angell Surety School. Newby earned a MBA from Pepperdine University after receiving a Bachelor degree from the University of Michigan.
Josh Tritt - Vice President
Ford Rogers, a Vice President of MNH-Tullis, joined the company in October 2013. Prior to that, he was a construction surety bond underwriter for a large insurance company in Little Rock for six years. While he works with a variety of commercial accounts, he specializes in working with contractors and maximizing their surety bond programs. Ford is involved and active with many construction trade associations and is a past board member of the Associated General Contractors of Arkansas (AGC). Ford earned an MBA from the University of Arkansas – Little Rock after graduating from the University of Arkansas – Fayetteville with a B.S.B.A in Economics.
Mary Jo Zakrzewski serves as Sr. Account Manager of the agency. She began her insurance career over 20 years ago and has worked for two well known insurance agencies in Little Rock before joining MNH Tullis. While her specialties include working with clients involved in the areas of commercial construction and oil & gas, she has experience providing services to a variety of commercial insurance clients. Mary Jo works closely with our clients to be sure their daily bond and insurance needs are handled promptly and professionally by the MNH Tullis team. She has also attained the designation of Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC).
Cheri Irby serves as an account manager of the agency. She began her career over 19 years ago and has worked for two well-known insurance agencies in Little Rock before joining MNH-Tullis. Her career has been focused on the commercial construction industry but she has experience providing service to a variety of commercial clients. Because of her skill and intelligence, Cheri fits in well with the informed, personable, and service-oriented style of account management. Her knowledge of property and casualty issues and solutions has continued to grow. She has attained the Associate in Claims (AIC), Associate in Insurance (AINS) and Construction Risk Insurance Specialist (CRIS).
